9" x 11" Wool Applique Mat
Granny (Kim and Katie's grandmother) loved collecting fabric and fabric scraps. She would cut everything into squares (anywhere from roughly 4" - 10") and use them to make quilts for charity. Kim & Katie have lots of fond memories of helping her lay squares out on the living room floor in a pleasing manner to create 60" x 80" tops. Once sewn together, Granny would head out to the garage where she had a stall dedicated to her ping pong table which she used for sandwiching and tying the quilts with yarn. The last year of her life Granny made 100 quilts for charity!
Project features in-house dyed Woolly Mammoth artisan dyed wool for appliques and scrappy quilt center, luxurious black background wool, and Valdani perle cotton embroidery work. Finished project is fun to display as a candle mat, mini quilt, or accent around your home.
